  1. Key Points for JPI's 75th Anniversary Celebration
Following the recent ex-student meetings in Kolkata and Siliguri, we've shared our proposals for the upcoming 75th-year celebration. Our main goal is to make this milestone event meaningful and inclusive, but we've noticed a few concerns.
    Our main proposals include:
Focus on Academia and Industry: We want to move beyond just social functions and include an Industrial Seminar-cum-Exhibition. This would not only attract sponsorships but also give current students vital exposure to modern technologies and career opportunities. Shri Mrinmoy Pal, Shri Ranjan Nandi, Shri Rajdeep Chakraborty, and Shri Asim Paul have already volunteered to help organize this.
Transparency and Inclusiveness: We request that the ex-student representatives on the main organizing committee be chosen through a democratic process, not an arbitrary one.
Financial Accountability: Given that ex-students are expected to fund the majority of the event (estimated at Rs. 15–32 lakh), we're calling for the formation of a Financial Integrity Committee. This committee, composed of elected ex-students, would be responsible for verifying and approving all expenditures to ensure transparency and build trust.
We believe that incorporating these suggestions will lead to a more successful and transparent celebration that truly honors our alma mater. The ex-students are ready to contribute, but we need to ensure the event is managed with accountability and respect for everyone's input.
